I finally made it Mesa Verde! (after I move out of New Mexico.. go figure.. I still haven't seen Carlsbad Caverns either!). I was just a tad disappointed. Not that it wasn't a great place, but after the Gila Cliff dwellings, Chaco Canyon, Bandolier... I was just expecting a bit more! It's like seeing the Grand Canyon after wandering southern Utah... oh... it's another canyon.. just bigger.

But it was, as always, worth the side trip and the time!
